Met Kendo at the Blackpool wrestling reunion this year, and had a great conversation with him about his working career from his early days at Jennings engineers and manufacturers. Through his wrestling career and found him a very interesting and sociable gen. 👍

Hi Hack,would it be possible to send Bernard, the bill with Julian on? He’s versing Dirty Dicky Swales. Also all that I know about Julian is that he was Hungarian and lived in South Bank,Middlesbrough. He was a roofer by trade and by all accounts he was good at it. He died between 8 & 10 years ago. He wrestled quite a lot as Billy Red Cloud,and also his own name which I have down as Julian Cercerly. By the time I started with St Lukes Amateur Matmen in 1966,he had left,but still trained at Jim Stockdale’s gym. Unfortunately I never had the privilege of meeting him.

I partnered Eric Liederman (from Hull) in tag against Jake several times at the Spa,Scarboroug. Jake often partnered Carl Kramer or Klondike Jim (who was Klondike Jim?)I ask. It was quite an experience as I was only 13 and a half stone at the time, so I was the whipping boy you might say. I wouldn’t of missed it for the world though.Great times. R. I.P. Barry. One hell of a guy. 💪

As I said previously,majority of people if they were honest would prefer to see Mick McManus (the man you loved to hate), top of the bill against Mike Marino for instance. 🤼‍♂️

No I aren’t,if you look in one of the Wrestler magazines in about 1972, he’s in there as Ray, but he’s actually Ron or as some of the lads from Darlo called him Ronnie.

Also he worked the booths as a boxer and wrestle, and was a regular at the Hoppings , on Newcastle’s Town Moor, for Ron Taylor. So he had a link with Newcastle Ron.

Definitely a Darlington lad, maybe could of been born in Newcastle, quite tall about a similar size and build to Ray Steele.

Never got speak to Mr Brown,but yes he appears to be a nice chap with an avid interest with the Scottish reunion Hack 💪

Just returned from the 2021 Ayr wrestling reunion, met a lot of old and new friend, and had a marvellous afternoon still living the dream. We enjoyed a great chat with Main Mask,who is an encyclopaedia of Wrestling, what a great afternoon 🤼‍♀️💪🤼‍♀️

Yes that's correct Hack,he organised and addressed the eulogy for Toma's funeral.And chartered the pleasure boat the Coronia to scatter Toma's ashes in the sea off Scarborough,when one of the guests on the boat was boxer Richard Dunn who had been a good friend of Toma's.

While wrestling Terry Jowett at Middlesbrough town hall for promoter Brian Dixon. I fell badly on my left ankle and didn’t just break it, I shattered it having to have a plate,5 screws and 3 pins fitted. Put me out of commission for 8 months and ending my wrestling career 🤼‍♀️.
